Allen Yorke Park Boat Launch Reopens For Summer

Boaters can apply for an annual boat launch parking pass online or by mail.

BONNEY LAKE, WA — Boating season is finally coming to Lake Tapps.

As of this week, the Allen Yorke Park boat launch is open for business. The boat launch is operated by the City of Bonney Lake and can be found at the southern end of Lake Tapps. It offers boaters an easy way to get into the water, plus kayak and paddle board rentals from the nearby Snack Shack.

There are two ways boaters can access the boat launch. First, residents of Bonney Lake can apply for an annual parking pass. The passes cost $30 plus taxes for a year of parking, but require the applicant to live within the city limits. Learn more by visiting the city's website at cobl.us/boating.

Visitors have the option of paying a $17 parking fee for a day pass, which can be done at a kiosk on site.

The city does warn that, because Lake Tapps is a water reservoir, the water level can fluctuate significantly, forcing them to close the boat launch without advance notice.
