Bonney Lake Costco Expansion: Public Comment Sought

Contractors hope to add an 82-stall parking lot along SR-410 to accommodate visitors to the new Costco near Bonney Lake Village.

BONNEY LAKE, WA — The city is now accepting public comments regarding the application to construct a new 82-stall parking lot to accommodate customers at the recently completed Costco near Bonney Lake Village. Residents have until Nov. 26 to submit feedback on the proposal.

The city will not hold a public hearing on the proposal, though interested residents call review the application during normal business hours at the city's Public Services Department, located at 9002 Main St. East, Suite 300, in Bonney Lake. Written comments will be accepted at the same location until 5 p.m. Nov. 26.

Opened May 30, the Costco now occupies what was previously a patch of forest between Bonney Lake Village and Bonney Lake Marketplace.

To accommodate the grocer's construction, the company extended 204th Avenue East from South Prairie Road East to SR-410, while the city added a new traffic light on the highway to help ease congestion concerns.

The Bonney Lake Costco was the second constructed in the area, following the Puyallup location.
