Exact Date Of Bonney Lake Costco Opening Released

BONNEY LAKE, WA - The opening date for the new Bonney Lake Costco has been a moving target for a while. Some estimates put the opening at mid-summer, others said spring. As recently as Monday, local residents insisted the Costco is opening May 31 - and and equal share say they've been told it's May 30.

Monday morning, the company's website said the store would open in May - but no exact date. But around 5 p.m., the regional operations manager for the area got back to Patch with some news: the store will open May 30 at 8 a.m.

"Things of course could always happen to unfortunately require us to postpone this goal, but as of now this is the date and I feel we will hit it," Northwest Regional Operations Manager Kevin Green wrote in an email.

The skeleton of the Costco began to rise last year in a swath of forest between Fred Meyer and the Sonic Drive-In along SR 410. The Bonney Lake location will be the second in the area after the Puyallup store. The store will serve eastern Pierce and southern King counties, saving shoppers a trip to either Puyallup or Federal Way.
