Bonney Lake High Announces 'MORP' To Replace Prom
The district says this school year has been backwards, so prom might as well be backwards too.
BONNEY LAKE, WA — In lieu of a traditional prom this year, Bonney Lake High School has instead announced a "MORP."
What is MORP, you may ask? Well, for one it's prom backwards. The district says that, after a very backwards, mostly-remote school year, it's only fitting that prom be backwards as well.
As organizers explain, despite rising vaccination rates and the return to in-person learning next fall, it isn't safe right now to have all their students back together at once for prom. So instead, they're making do by encouraging the kids to dress up on their own, maybe treat themselves to a fancy dinner (as long as they observe social distancing rules) and make the best of a weird situation.
