Bonney Lake House Fire A Reminder Of Smoke Alarm Importance

Firefighters say a working smoke alarm helped avert a disaster at a Bonney Lake home Monday.

BONNEY LAKE, WA — Firefighters say a recent house fire can serve as a good reminder about the importance of having a working fire alarm.

Early Monday, crews with East Pierce Fire were called to a small fire in a home near the 13200 block of 210th Ave E.

According to East Pierce Fire, occupants had a working fire alarm that went off and alerted them there was an issue. They called 911 and firefighters were able to quickly mop up the fire and save the house. No injuries have been reported.

While the firefighters deserve credit for their quick work, they say that the smoke alarm saved them precious time, which helped protect the house. They're reminding everyone to take some time and test their own smoke alarms, and to replace their smoke alarms every 10 years.
