Bonney Lake Launches Fundraiser To Gather $25,000 For Food Bank
The City of Bonney Lake has launched a fundraiser to gather money for the Bonney Lake Food Bank during the coronavirus outbreak.
BONNEY LAKE, WA — The City of Bonney Lake is asking the community to come together and donate to the local food bank, which they say has been struggling to meet demands during the coronavirus outbreak.
The city is trying to raise at least $25,000 for the Bonney Lake Food Bank to help meet a growing demand for food and supplies. As of midday Tuesday, the city says they are already over halfway to meeting their goal, but need a little more to push it over the edge:
The Bonney Lake Food Bank says they've faced a number of new challenges during coronavirus outbreak: not only have they had to launch a delivery service and rework their entire process to avoid spreading the virus, they've also seen a growing demand for food. The food bank says they're expecting to feed up to six times the normal number of families over the coming months. Currently they provide food for more than a thousand people each week. They also supply critical goods like dog food, diapers and other toiletries.
