Bonney Lake Police Conducting Traffic Emphasis in April on Cell Phone Use While Driving
The department will impose a no tolerance policy during the month of April on cell phone use violations while driving - the penalty being a $124 fine.

Though driving and handling a cell phone is already a primary offense in the state of Washington, Bonney Lake Police officers will be further enforcing the law during the month of April in an effort to reduce the number of accidents on city roads.
The city of Bonney Lake blog cites a study from the NHTSA, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, that users of cell phones are four times as likely to get into crashes serious enough to injure themselves.
The penalty for the infraction is a $124 fine so remember "Hands Free, or a Fee."
