Bonney Lake Police: Man Arrested for Threatening to 'Blow Up' Home

The following information from July 2 to July 9 was provided by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

July 2, 2013

Domestic Dispute: Police were forwarding charges for fourth-degree assault/DV to the city prosecutor regarding a man who reportedly tried to instigate a fight with his father at their home on the 20300 block of 97th Street East at 10:39 a.m. The father told police he had been acting crazy and was trying to hit him when he was able to restrain him, causing him instead to spit in his father’s face to get him to fight. The son fled the scene before police arrived; the father reported no injuries.

Juveniles Drinking: Police cited a juvenile for minor in possession/consumption of alcohol and being a minor intoxicated in public at Allan Yorke Park at 4:14 p.m. The teen appeared to have wanted to start a fight with another person at the skate park.

Vehicle Stolen, Recovered: A citizen reported at 7:49 p.m. that someone had stolen his vehicle from in front of his home on the 5600 block of 195th Avenue East sometime between 10 p.m. the previous night and the present time.  At about 4:15 p.m. on July 4, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported the vehicle was recovered on the 20300 block of La Paloma Drive.

July 4, 2013

Arson Threats: Police arrested a man for second-degree attempted arson after responding to a home on the 19400 block of 94th Street East at 1 p.m. for a report he threatened to ‘blow up’ his stepfather’s home with his stepfather inside. The man had fled the scene but was later located by other officers; he told them he didn’t make such threats, but police found through evidence the man had intentions of causing damage to the home.

Domestic Violence: Police arrested a man for fourth-degree assault/DV after responding to a home on the 9100 block of 214th Avenue East at 11:47 p.m. for a report of an assault. The man’s wife told police he had hit her when they got into an argument at a different location. She had locked herself in at this house but he was still trying to get in. The man left before police arrived but was arrested at a relative’s home in the city.

July 5, 2013

Property Damage: A contractor reported at 8:31 a.m. that someone damaged a Honey Bucket portable toilet at a construction site on the 8000 block of 182nd Avenue East, sometime between 4 p.m. on July 3 and 8 a.m. that morning.

Property Damage: A citizen reported at 9:15 a.m. that someone entered his unoccupied home on the 18300 block of 77th Street East between 9 p.m. on July 3 and 8 a.m. that morning and cut the electrical wiring at various points around the house. None of the wiring appeared to have been removed from the home. The home was under construction and was not secure. Damages were estimated at about $5,000.

July 6, 2013

Theft from Vehicle: A citizen reported at 2:55 p.m. that while she was at the post office on Veterans Memorial Drive East, someone smashed out the passenger window of her vehicle and stole her Coach purse, which was resting on the passenger side floor board. The victim reported seeing a small green truck in the area at that time.

Dispute Between Brothers: Police arrested a man for third-degree malicious mischief/DV after responding to his brother’s home on the 19000 block of 109th Street Court East at 10 p.m. The brother told police he’d allowed his brother to stay with him for a few weeks while participating in a work release program but he’d damaged the home while the rest of the family was out and was found intoxicated when they returned. The man said he wanted to press charges against his brother.

July 7, 2013

Shoplifting: Police cited and released a woman for third-degree theft after responding to a report of shoplifting at Safeway at 9:34 p.m. She reportedly tried to leave the store with about $60 worth of items in a hand basket and admitted she had no intention of paying.

July 8, 2013

Burglary: Police responded to Lake Jane Pool on the 18800 block of 68th Street East at 8:36 a.m. for an overnight burglary. An employee reported someone broke into the concessions stand overnight between 7 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. that morning and stole the cash register.  No forced access was found though a window may not have been secured. There was no cash in the register, the employee said.

Phone Found: Police took custody of a cellular phone that was found at Lake Debra Jane Park on the 18800 block of 68th Street East at 7:55 p.m., reportedly by the pool. It was broken in half and a Verizon brand.

July 9, 2013

Theft from Trailer: Police responded to a home on the 6900 block of Vandermark Road East at about 8 p.m. for a report a trailer was broken into a more than $1,000 in tools was stolen along with paraphernalia associated with motorcycles and motorcross racing. The victim said the theft occurred after the holiday weekend but he was unsure of an exact time – it was only discovered that afternoon that two padlocks had been cut.

Stolen Boat Windshield Recovered: A citizen confirmed for police that he had ordered a new windshield for his boat that was supposed to have been delivered to his residence on the 5600 block of 195th Place East, but because he was out of town had not bee tracking the package. The item was found by a resident on the 6900 block of Vandermark Road East at about 9 p.m. when police were at the location responding to another theft report. The resident on Vandermark pointed out the box in a neighboring driveway. The officer noted the box was open but it didn’t appear the items inside were taken.
