Buckley Police: Senior Victim of Phone Scam, Hunting Equipment Stolen and Assault Alleged at Rainier School

The following information from July 4 to July 13 was provided by the Buckley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

July 4, 2013

Theft: A resident on the 300 block of Church Street in Wilkeson reported at 8 a.m. that someone had entered his garage and stolen some hunting equipment.

July 9, 2013

Assault Alleged: A state worker reported at 12 p.m. that while working with a client at the Rainier School, the client claimed to have been assaulted.

July 11, 2013

No Plate Reveals Warrants: Police stopped a vehicle on North River at Park Avenue at 2:34 a.m. because it had no front plate. The driver was cited for a warrant related to driving with a suspended license. The passenger was arrested for violating an active no contact order and lying to police.

July 12, 2013

Agency Assist: An officer helped arrest a woman wanted on several warrants but was fleeing on foot on the 26800 block of 432nd Street at 6:10 p.m. She was located in some sticker bushes and taken into custody.

Scammed: Police received a report at 7:30 p.m. that a senior had given money away over the phone in a scam to win $1 million.

July 13, 2013

Minor in Possession: Police arrested and later released with citation an 18-year-old male seen carrying beer on the 800 block of North River Avenue at 5:39 p.m. and showing signs of intoxication.
