BONNEY LAKE, WA — The Pierce County Force Investigation Team (PCFIT) is investigating a police shooting along State Route 410 in Bonney Lake, which closed the area for some time Wednesday.
According to investigators, the incident started as a report of a "suspicious vehicle" parked at the 7-11 on 200th Ave E. The 911 caller reported that two people, a man and a woman, were passed out inside a white sedan, with drug paraphernalia in their laps.

Investigators said surveillance footage from the Speedway Express shows the officer approaching the sedan on foot. Shortly after she does, however, the car jolts forward and hits her. At that point the officer drew her weapon, and fired multiple rounds into the car as it sped away, according to investigators.
The area was closed for several hours and the Speedway cordoned off as officials investigated.

While police say they have several leads on the escaped sedan, no arrests have been made yet.
The extent of the officer's injuries are unknown. Investigators also say they do not know if either of the people inside the car were hit by the gunfire.
