Pierce Deputies Shoot, Critically Injure 70-Year-Old Man
The incident started as a domestic violence call, according to several reports.
BUCKLEY, WA — A 70-year-old Buckley man was critically injured after he was shot by a Pierce County Sheriff's Department deputy, according to several reports.
As KIRO 7 reports, the incident began at around 1:45 p.m. Thursday, when deputies responded to a domestic violence call in the 14900 block of 272 Avenue East.
Deputies say that, when they arrived, the suspect had a handgun drawn. Shortly after their arrival, one deputy opened fire, seriously injuring the 70-year-old suspect, KIRO reports.

After the shooting, deputies administered aid and called for a helicopter, who took the man to a nearby hospital, the Tacoma News Tribune reported. He is said to be in critical but stable condition.
