East Pierce Fire Personnel Extend Hand Fighting Eastern Washington Wildfires
Three firefighters have responded to Eastern Washington this week to combat the Colockum Tarps and Mile Market 28 fires.

Three firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue have or continue to support the efforts to contain wildfires in Eastern Washington.
East Pierce reported on Facebook Tuesday that the two members who were deployed earlier this week to support the Colockum Tarps response have retuend home. KING5 reported Tuesday some Colockum area residents were allowed to return home, but according to official reports as of Wednesday night, the fire was just 25 percent contained and estimated at about 70,000 acres.
The department hinted on the social media site that there may be additional deployments soon.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief John McDonald has been deployed with the Incident Management State Team to the Goldendale fire and is expected to spend 10 to 14 days as part of the command staff.Â
That fire, labeled the Mile Marker 28 Fire, began on Wednesday, July 24 and has since grown to more than 26,000 acres. As of Wednesday night, it was 65 percent contained.
