The Hungry Housewives- 15 Years of Serving The Community
How a local group of women help bring us together

Founded in 2004, The Hungry Housewives was created for moms to exchange homemade freezer dinners and chat over lunch. With a background of volunteering at the elementary school, we decided to fundraise for charities in our community so created The Hungry Housewives Events. From fashion shows to Bunco, we had a great time, supporting great causes, including the American Cancer Society and The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
As our kids got bigger and our time together grew smaller, a few of us started upcycling furniture and selling it just for fun ... but we missed our work giving back to the community. In 2012 we hosted our first Craft and Vendor Show, where we decided to have a BIG door prize and sell raffle tickets to support LOCAL causes.
In the past seven years, 100% of the raffle proceeds went to support the following:
Merry on Main -bringing the town of Buckley together during the holidays
The Soup Ladies -serving food to first responders
Dylan Parkinson- aiding local lost or feral animals
Buckley Fire Department - providing bike helmets to kids in the area
The Mom and Me Mobile Medical Clinic -offering healthcare to anybody in need
Helping Dylan Takedown Cancer - a friend's son fighting cancer
Tourette Syndrome -to show our support to a fellow Housewife's son
THIS YEAR, during The Hungry Housewives 8th Annual Craft and Vendor Show (Oct 12th, 10 am-4 pm at White River High School in Buckley, WA), we are proud to contribute to The Jordan Binion Project, which supports mental health education for young adults! Their focus is making sure high school students receive information to better understand the signs and symptoms of various mental illnesses. They help decrease stigmas associated with seeking help, and increase help seeking behaviors including knowing when and where to find assistance.
When you arrive on Oct 12th, The Jordan Binion Project booth should be your first stop! Here you'll find our event brochure with details about the booths, and you can purchase raffle tickets for the door prize with items donated by our generous vendors. There will also be information about the organization and ways to support upcoming fundraisers including their 5th Annual Gala which you won't want to miss!
This year's vendors include home decor, handmade jewelry, stained glass, wreaths, sage/crystals, comic books, and even goodies for pets. There will be TWO local authors, some of your favorite Direct Sales businesses, kettle corn, TAMALES, and more! Grab a friend and you TOO can have a great time, supporting a great cause!
