Lace Up Your Shoes, Foothills Dash Set for Saturday

The annual fun run in Orting benefits the recreation programs for Pierce County youths.

Pierce County Parks & Recreation's annual Foothills Dash in Orting is slated for this Saturday. The 5K and 10K fun run takes place at the Foothills Trail and is open to people of all ages and ability levels.

The race kicks off at 9 a.m., and the courses start and finish at the Orting Eagle Lodge.

The Foothills Trail is a 12-foot wide paved trail and provides flat areas and easy slopes.

Awards will be given out to first, second and third place finishers, and refreshments will be provided. All proceeds benefit recreation programs for youths and adults with disabilities.

Pre-registered participants are encouraged to pick up their bib numbers, race bags and T-shirts before race day at the Lakewood Community Center, 9112 Lakewood Dr. SW, on the following days:

  • Wednesday, March 6, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 7, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

If you haven’t registered yet, you can still sign up on the day of event at 7 a.m.
5K & 10K Fees

  • 1 Mile: $5 per person
  • 5K & 10K: $10 (Youth 12 and under)
  • 5K & 10K: $20 (Day of event)

Check in begins at 7 a.m. at Orting Eagles Lodge Parking Lot, 112 Bridge St. S.
