Auburn police reportedly shot and killed a man who was threatening officers with a knife and refusing to surrender early Monday.
AUBURN, WA — Police early Monday shot and killed a man who was reportedly threatening two officers with a knife and refusing to put it down. The man has not yet been identified.
The shooting incident reportedly occurred around 12:45 a.m. May 20 at the Palermo Apartments, located at 7101 Lindsay Ave. SE in Auburn. According to Auburn police, officers were initially dispatched to the area for a domestic dispute call involving a man and a woman.
When police arrived at the apartments, two officers reportedly engaged the man involved in the parking lot. As the dialogue between the officers and the man escalated, the man eventually pulled a knife and began threatening the officers.

Officers reportedly told the man to drop the knife, but he refused. Finally, one officer fired one round from his service weapon, killing the man at the scene. No officers were injured.
The incident is under investigation, police officials said. Both officers involved were immediately placed on paid administrative leave.
