Ram Captured Along West Valley Highway - And It's Not A Dodge
There are plenty of Dodge Rams on the highway. But sheep rams are a little more rare.

SUMNER, WA - It's pretty uncommon to see a ram along the West Valley Highway.
Not a Dodge Ram, a sheep ram.
Metro Animal Services this week responded to a report of a loose ram wandering along the roadway near Sumner. The animal had apparently been criss-crossing the highway for a few days, Sumner communications director Carmen Palmer told Patch.com.

"He went on a bit of a walkabout from his property," she said.
A Metro Animal Services officer was able to - gently and calmly - wrangle the animal. In technical terms, a ram is an un-castrated male sheep, and they are potentially dangerous. This one happened to be pretty friendly, however.

The ram is being held at the Metro Animal Services shelter in Puyallup. Animal control officers were able to track down and notify the owners. However, if the owners don't come and get him, he will be put up for adoption.
Luckily, Metro Animal Services has a special trailer to handle situations like this one. Last year, the Friends At Your Metro Animal Services (FAYMAS) group and the Puyallup Tribe teamed up to raise the money to buy a trailer for the department big enough to handle livestock.
This is the second large animal escape in the area within a the last few weeks. Two weeks ago, a cow and her calf escaped in Lakewood and were on the loose for several days before they were caught.
