Sumner Fixes Issues With Online Utility Payment System
After a slightly rough start, the city's new online bill pay system is now up and running.
SUMNER, WA — This month the City of Sumner's has launched a new online utility bill-paying system, but the launch hasn't been without its hiccups.
The city first alerted the public of system issues Monday, saying that the new program was allowing residents to register to pay their bills online just fine, but that it wasn't actually letting them pay their bills once they signed up.
Wishful thinking that a software conversion wouldn't be without bumps. People are registering just fine with the new Utility Bill system, but it won't let you pay!!! (Kind of a BIG problem there.) We're checking with the company ASAP. Stay tuned. pic.twitter.com/JjWUzoJlY2

Flash forward to Tuesday morning and those issues were still present - but after a few more hours of work the city says everything should be functioning as intended.

The system allows residents to pay their water, sewage, and stormwater bills online at the city's website.
