Sumner Amazon Workers Help Local Food Bank With Logistics

Amazon operations leaders visited the food bank to deliver their expertise to help streamline processes and maximize valuable resources.

From Amazon: On Monday, leaders from Amazon’s Sumner fulfillment center delivered something unique to the Sumner Community Food Bank (SCFB). Instead of the iconic brown boxes with a smile, Amazon operations leaders visited the food bank to deliver their expertise to help streamline processes and maximize valuable resources. Additionally, Amazon consulted on SCFB’s plans to expand their current facility to be able to support more people in need in the community.

Amazon currently donates food from its local fulfillment center to the food bank through Food Lifeline, a Feeding America affiliate which partners with SCFB. Amazon donates millions of pounds of food a year in Washington State through Food Lifeline. SCFB is a nearly 100% volunteer-based organization which supports nearly 10,000 men, women and children a year in the Sumner community.

Amazon also presented the Sumner County Food Bank with a $10,000 donation to support its logistics operations and expansion efforts.
