Sumner-Bonney Lake Schools Plan Early Release Friday

Students will be dismissed from Sumner-Bonney Lake School District facilities two hours early on Feb. 8.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - Sumner-Bonney Lake schools will end classes and programs two hours early on Friday to give students, staff, and faculty enough time to get home before the worst of the winter storm hits the area. Forecasts Friday morning called for the heaviest snowfall to occur after 3 p.m.

Schools will release on a tiered schedule:

  • Secondary schools - 12:20 p.m. dismissal: BLHS, SHS, LMS, MMS, SMS, Elhi
  • Early start elementary schools - 1:10 p.m. dismissal: CWE, DVE, LRE, MLE, VFE
  • Late start elementary schools - 1:45 p.m. dismissal: BLE, DEE, EHE, THE

Numerous schools throughout the region took the same preemptive steps late Thursday in announcing their plans for the storm.
