Sumner Dentist to Donate More than $100,000 in Services to Community

Expect the Pacific Northwest to line up at a premier local dentist as early as midnight before October 3, 2013. Based in Sumner, top cosmetic dentist April Ziegele is providing free dentistry, such as fillings, extractions, and exams, to those who need it through her own event, Heartfelt Dental Day.

Ziegele has given away free dental care before by participating with other nonprofit programs because of her genuine concern and care for the community. However, she decided to start Heartfelt Dental Day on her own, to be able to give back more than once a year. In the past, she has donated about $110,000 worth of dentistry to those in need of dental care and was able to see 74 people while approximately 100 lined out the door.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, about 108 million people in the U.S. have no dental insurance. Ziegele says she saw many people in pain from oral health issues, which limits their ability to do daily functions such as eating and chewing.

“So many of our patients that day cried because they couldn’t believe they could get this free dental care,” Ziegele said. “They don’t have to live with that pain anymore and we felt so energized doing it.”

Heartfelt Dental Day will take place Oct. 3 at Ziegele Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry located 15324 Main St. Suite A, Sumner, WA 98390.
