Sumner Police Recognizes Two Officers Who Saved Life With CPR
The police say thanks to Officer Anderson and Officer Lovejoy a Sumner resident has a second chance at life.

SUMNER, WA — The Sumner Police Department is recognizing two of its officers whose quick thinking saved a life in January.
As the police department explains, back on Jan. 29 a woman called 911 after finding her husband collapsed and unconscious in their home. Dispatchers radioed the fire department for emergency CPR, but Officer Anderson and Officer Lovejoy were both already nearby and rushed to help. They beat the fire department to the scene — arriving within a minute of each other — and quickly got to work helping the unconscious man.
Officer Anderson performed CPR while Officer Lovejoy administered a dose of Narcan, and after several minutes of work the man began breathing again. East Pierce then arrived and provided further medical care.

Sumner Police's Sergeant Temple contacted the man a few days later, and he told them it's thanks to both officers Anderson and Lovejoy that he is alive today, and that he feels he has been given a second chance at life.
In recognition of their quick thinking, the Sumner Police Department presented both officers with Life Saving awards for their actions, saying they couldn't be happier with the two:
