Sumner Students Mad Over 2019 Yearbook Edits: Report

The 2019 yearbook was edited to exclude some apparent offensive quotes, according to a report.

SUMNER, WA — Graduating students at Sumner High School are up in arms over edits made to the 2019 yearbook, with whole sections of pages that were cut out with an X-Acto knife, according to KOMO news.

The edits were made because of apparent inappropriate quotes that seniors submitted to have next to their yearbook photos, according to the report. Some were sexual or drug-related, KOMO reported.

The district said in statement that the edits were an "unfortunate oversight," and said it will change the editing process for future yearbook editions.
