Suspect Groped Edgewood Store Clerk: Deputies
The sheriff's department is hoping the public will recognize a suspect who they say assaulted a convenience store clerk last month.
EDGEWOOD, WA — The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is looking for a suspect who they say sexually assaulted a store clerk in Edgewood in late April.
According to deputies, the attack happened around 1:30 a.m. the morning of April 24 in a convenience store on Meridian Ave E.
Investigators say the man walked in, and picked up a case of beer, but while he was paying reached under the plastic divider and groped the store clerk. Deputies say he followed the attack with a vulgar comment, and then took off.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, roughly 5'4" tall with a medium to heavy build and black hair. At the time, he was wearing a black baseball cap, dark face mask, light tank top and gray shorts.
The sheriff's department is hoping someone will recognize the suspect. If you do, they're asking you report it to CrimeStoppers by calling their tip line at 1-800-222-TIPS. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
