Teen Boy Fatally Shot At Federal Way Apartment Complex
Federal Way police reportedly believe two 14-year-old boys mishandled a gun when it went off, killing one of the teens.
FEDERAL WAY, WA — Police in Federal Way are reportedly investigating the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy at the Maplewood Apartments early Tuesday. The seemingly accidental shooting reportedly occurred just after midnight.
Officers were dispatched to the apartment complex in the 32100-block of 46th Place Southwest around 12:15 a.m. July 2. When the arrived, they found the boy already deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Another 14-year-old boy was reportedly with the victim at the time of the shooting, but officers have not yet been able to locate him. At this time, police reportedly believe the teens were mishandling the gun when it went off.

No one else in the apartment was hurt in the shooting, and all but the missing boy are reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
The area around the apartment building is cordoned off and detectives are investigating.
