City of Sammamish Needs Volunteers for Evans Creek Preserve Trail Project, Earth Day and Writing and Editing

The city of Sammamish is seeking volunteers to help lead others in building a trail at Evans Creek Preserve, assist with Earth Day activities in April and edit and write publications.
For the Evans Creek Preserve project, volunteer stewards should be 18 years or older and have time to work about five to 10 Saturdays from June through September, Dawn Sanders, city volunteer coordinator, said in an announcement.
A trail about 1-mile long is being built and volunteers are needed to help with the project. Volunteer stewards will help lead other volunteers and will attend training sessions in March and April.

On April 30, the city will celebrate Earth Day at Beaver Lake Park from 10 am to 2 pm. The city needs volunteers to help encourage people to walk or bike to the event.
Sanders said the city also needs a volunteer to wear a "Ranger Rick" costume and for others to help lead the person around at the event. Kids enjoy hugging "Ranger Rick," she said, so be prepared for young people to follow you around.

Finally, if there's a Sammamish wordsmith who has time to help write and edit publications for the city, Sanders would like to hear from you.
Questions can be directed to Sanders, who can be reached by email or at 425-295-0556.
