Traffic Alert: State Route 18 Closure Begins Friday Night

A portion of State Route 18, running between Snoqualmie and Hobart, will be closed in both directions from Friday night to Sunday afternoon.

ISSAQUAH, WA — A long stretch of State Route 18 is slated for a multi-day closure beginning Friday evening, blocking the route between Snoqualmie and Hobart. Washington State Department of Transportation crews will be deployed for around-the-clock maintenance work from 9 p.m. Friday until 2 p.m. Sunday.

According to WSDOT, the full closure on SR-18 will be in place between Issaquah-Hobart Road and Interstate 90.

Blocking the road will allow crews to safely repair more than 3,000 feet of pavement, replace more than 1,800 feet of guardrail, seal cracks in the road, improve drainage, widen grades and remove hazardous trees, officials said.

According to WSDOT, drivers who typically travel the stretch of road can use alternate routes on Interstate 90, Interstate 405, State Route 167 and State Route 900, along with other with local roads.

Travelers are encouraged to check the latest traffic alerts on the WSDOT's app or Twitter feeds, and more closure information is posted on the weekly travel planner webpage. Real-time traffic information is also available online or by calling 511.
