For this month and April, the group is helping with trail plans and training volunteers, city officials said. The city's volunteer program will begin in June and go through September.
The preserve will cover about 180 acres and could open this summer. Help is needed to build a trail, clear paths and build boardwalks over wetlands, the city said.
