Eastside Fire Chief Lee Soptich Will Continue as President of King County Chiefs Association

Eastside Fire & Rescue Fire Chief Lee Soptich will continue serving as the president of the King County Fire Chiefs Association through 2011, the agency announced Monday.

Soptich was sworn in on Jan. 19 for a second term. As president, he will work with the group's executive board on policy and programs.

The association promotes safety, conducts education outreach programs, works on emergency management issues and lobbies lawmakers on legislation.

In Sammamish, the agency has crews and heavy trucks at , and . The city of Sammamish is a partner in the consolidated fire agency, which includes other Eastside cities.
