The Issaquah Community Network is seeking funding proposals for projects planned to occur during the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year, ending June 30, 2012. The deadline for grant applications is Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The Issaquah Community Network is organized to support local efforts in support of healthy youth and community. The ICN board of directors has established the following focus areas for 2011-2012:
- Reduce youth substance abuse by increasing opportunities for positive social involvement; with an emphasis on empowering students to mentor other students toward healthy lifestyles;
- Reduce youth homelessness by increasing information, public awareness and support for local agencies helping homeless youth and families;
- Reduce depression and risk of suicide by increasing education, detection, support mechanisms, and referrals as well as increasing connections to family, schools, community and caring adults;
- Reduce adverse childhood experiences through specific training in ACEs research, public awareness, and support for healthy youth and families.
Grant-funded services must be delivered within boundaries. Eligible applicants must represent a 501©3 or government-funded organization and meet the guidelines specified in the application form.
