U.S. citizens living in Sammamish and other Seattle area cities who were thinking about getting their passports at two locations in King County on Saturday will have to wait.
The possibility of a federal government shutdown has prompted the U.S. State Department to cancel the "Passport Day" event, according to a notice posted on the city of Sammamish's website.
It was scheduled to take place at the Cottage Lake Community Service Center in Woodinville and the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.
