Sammamish Musicians Become Finalists in KING FM's Ten Grands Young Artist Competition

Five Sammamish residents are finalists in the 2011 Ten Grands Young Artist music competition sponsored by KING FM (98.1).

They are: Nathan Lee, 9, Karl Ronneburg, 16, Robert Yan, 10, Carly Ann Worden, 18 and Jay Grinols, 12.

Last year, Worden, who plays piano, was one of 10 finalists. At the time, she attended .

The public can preview the musical video submissions of each young person at KING FM and vote for their favorite through Feb. 18, said Cheri Brennan, a publicist who is helping the competition.

The finalists have been invited to perform on April 1 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Their performance is scheduled to start at 6 pm, before the main Ten Grands concert, which is slated to begin at 7 pm.

There are a total of 25 finalists and they also are from Bellevue, Bothell, Camano Island, Carnation, Duvall, Issaquah, Kent, Mill Creek, Redmond, Seattle, Vancouver (Wash.), West Linn, Ore. and Woodway.

The public can purchase tickets to the Ten Grands concert at the Benaroya Hall ticket office or by calling 206-215-4747. Benaroya Hall is located at 200 University St.
