Sammamish Students in LWSD Named National Merit Semifinalists

Two students from Sammamish have received the honor of being named National Merit Semifinalists, administrators said Monday.

The students are: Blake Crinklaw of and Benjamin C. Keller of .

They are among 16,000 high school seniors in the country who qualified by scoring very high on the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The students can now compete for about 8,300 National Merit Scholarships. The total amount available of all the scholarships is about $34 million to $36 million, administrators said.

The district had 25 National Merit Semifinalists. In the district, Redmond High School had 14 semifinalists, the largest number in the district.
