Skyline High School Cheer Squads Compete in National Competition in February

Sammamish Patch wants to acknowledge the  cheerleading members for their participation in last month's Universal Cheerleaders Association national championships.

The event took place from Feb. 10 to 14 in Orlando, Fla. Stephania Lemeshko, the Skyline head cheerleading coach, was kind enough to send this photograph of the Skyline cheerleaders.

Lemeshko said Skyline finished 22nd out of 44 teams. Over 400 teams competed in various divisions, she added, noting that it's the second time that Skyline has participated in this UCA competition.

"We did pretty well in UCA Nationals," she wrote in an email. " It is the largest and oldest competition for High School Cheer!"

In January, two Skyline cheerleading teams came in first place in two categories at the state championships in Everett.
