Applications Being Accepted for Kids' Parade at Sammamish Days

Participants are encouraged to display their culture - or one that they like - during the Aug. 13 event.

Sammamish families, it's time to get ready for a grand parade of kids who live in the city.

The is accepting applications for kids to participate in their own parade at the Sammamish Days festival on Aug. 13. Registration is required and applications can be dropped off at City Hall before that date.

Kids are being encouraged to show off their culture or a culture in which they have interest. Participation costs $5 per child. Kids under the age of five years old will need to be accompanied by someone who is older than the age of 12.

Groups of up to 25 kids can register for $50. Groups need to have one adult for each eight children, the city reported.

Each child who participates will receive a bag full of goodies. Organizers say that the parade is a highlight of the day's celebration.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. at  and ends at .

Organizers ask that participants do not bring pets or motorized vehicles to the parade.
