As Harry Potter Fans in Sammamish Prepare for the Movie's Friday Opening, a Reminder: Quidditch Exists

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" opens on Friday - and some enterprising college students have, well, taken an idea to the next level.

With  fans in Sammamish, Seattle and the nation getting ready for the Friday opening of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," we at Sammamish Patch wanted to note that Quidditch, the intense game made popular in the series, is real.

That's right. Well, except for the flying part. But enterprising students from Middlebury College have turned Quidditch into a game that can be played, complete with broomsticks, uniforms and the snitch.

Edmonds Patch Editor Heidi Dietrich wrote about Quidditch in April. If you're in New York City in November, you can watch the Quidditch World Cup - organized by, yes, the International Quidditch Association.
