Bail Set At $1 Million For Sammamish Shooting Suspects

Prosecutors say three men forced their way inside the apartment in an attempt to rob the victim's brother late Wednesday night.

SAMMAMISH, WA — A King County judge set bail at $1 million for three men arrested on Thursday in connection with a Sammamish killing.

Prosecutors identify Elijah Bryant, Jonathan Hansen and Montreal Morgan as the three suspects. Court documents name Fabian Alvarez as the man who died from several gunshot wounds late Wednesday night.

According to investigators, the three suspects forced their way inside an apartment on the 4500 block of Klahanie Drive Southeast shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Probable cause documents filed Friday said the men intended to rob the victim's brother, and a fight ensued. During the altercation, Alvarez was shot several times.

Detectives said the shooters fled the scene, but left several pieces of evidence behind, including shoes. According to prosecutors, the suspects left the house in a vehicle, which was abandoned just one block from the crime scene.

Eight hours later, several 911 calls reported suspicious men walking barefoot in the area. Detectives apprehended the first two suspects Thursday morning and located the third man in the afternoon.

Court documents say all three men fired shots during the attempted robbery, and detectives found multiple shell casings in several areas at the scene of the crime.

None of the men are formally charged, but a judge found probable cause to hold them on suspicion of homicide. A second appearance is scheduled for July 20.
