Bear Education Trailer Visits Sammamish

Western Wildlife Outreach, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, announced its Bear Education Outreach Trailer will be visiting Sammamish on Friday, May 24.

The trailer will be parked in the driveway of local resident Bob McCoy at parked the corner of SE 33rd PL and 216th PL SE (21629 SE 33rd PL) from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee has issued a proclamation declaring May 19-26 as Bear Awareness Week. The trailer has displays of bears, and, I understand, a new grizzly-bear mount.

The 17ft long Bear Outreach Education Trailer is emblazoned with bear education graphics. It contains full-body taxidermy mounts of bears both grizzly and black. And it has all of the supplies needed to provide a quality educational experience. Transportation, setup and staffing is provided by Western Wildlife Outreach in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as part of Grizzly Bear Recovery Effort.
