A Bit of Romance~A Dash of Exotica~ for one Evening only in April!
Sammamish Symphony Orchestra Presents "Romantic Exotica" featuring Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade! Guest Flutist Sandra Saathoff

For the Sammamish Symphony Orchestra's April concert on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 7:30 PM at Meydenbauer Theatre in Bellevue, four composers evoke lands and eras other than their own in this colorful and alluring program. Johann Strauss, Jr. demonstrates his flair for writing music in something other than 3/4 time in his Egyptian March. Camille Saint-Saëns' gifts for beguiling melodies and rich orchestration are amply displayed in the Bacchanale from his opera Samson and Delilah. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's most popular work, the grand symphonic poem Scheherazade, caps this musical voyage to distant realms and times. Flutist Sandra Saathoff is the stylish soloist in Franz Doppler's Fantaisie Pastorale Hongroise.
