Bullets Fired at Issaquah Paraglider in Douglas County

A 36-year-old Issaquah man was unharmed but shaken after several shots were fired at him on Tuesday near Chelan Falls.

An angry property owner fired several "warning" shots at an Issaquah paraglider on Tuesday as he glided through the air over a homestead in rural Douglas County.

According to The Wenatchee World, the 36-year-old man reportedly took off from Chelan Butte on July 2 and flew low over a property in Orondo, which drew the attention of a 66-year-old resident and his firearm. The homeowner reportedly yelled at the paraglider, fired a warning shot, and then continued with "verbal unpleasantries” and shot again.

The Issaquah man later landed in a Chelan Falls park unharmed and called authorities. A county undersheriff told the newspaper that no arrests were made and the case was referred to the county prosecutor.
