Deputies Seek Sammamish Car Prowler, Release Surveillance Footage

The sheriff's office released footage of a suspected car prowler, hoping that someone may recognize him.

SAMMAMISH, WA — King County investigators shared surveillance footage Tuesday of a suspected car prowler caught on a homeowner's camera late last Tuesday. The sheriff's office said deputies investigated a prowling report on the 1800 block of 223rd Place Northeast, around 11:30 on May 4, not far from Evans Creek Pond.

The homeowner gave the deputies video from a home surveillance camera, which investigators said showed a man with a red bandana trying the handles of several vehicles. After finding each vehicle locked, the man crossed the street and successfully entered an unlocked vehicle, appearing to search through a center console before leaving.

Deputies posted the footage on social media hoping someone may recognize something that could help the case. Anyone with information that could help the case is encouraged to call the non-emergency number at 206-296-3311 and mention case "#C21013871."
