Detectives Investigate Suspicious Death At Poo Poo Point Trail

Investigators have shared only limited details after a 911 caller reported a body at the popular trailhead early Sunday morning.

ISSAQUAH, WA — King County detectives opened a suspicious death investigation Sunday morning after a passerby found a body near the Poo Poo Point trailhead.

According to KING 5, a 911 caller reported the body in the early hours Sunday and detectives spent much of the day searching the nearby area. Investigators have not disclosed the circumstances that made the death appear suspicious.

In an e-mail to Patch on Monday, Sergeant Tim Meyer said the major crimes unit was continuing an open and active investigation, but further information was not yet available.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office will formally identify the body and determine a cause of death in the days to come.

Poo Poo Point is one of Issaquah's most popular trails, and it was not immediately clear whether the trailhead had reopened Monday.
