Issaquah Man Takes Gold At International Pickleball Championship
The 2019 international championship was held in late March in Centralia.

From Team Selkirk: Team Selkirk’s Jay Rippel (Issaquah, Washington) and Miok Lee (Gig Harbor, Washington) captured Gold in the Mixed Doubles Senior Open Division, at the 2019 International Indoor Pickleball Championships, March 26-31, at Northwest Sports Hub in Centralia, Washington.
In capturing victory, Rippel was equipped with Selkirk Sport’s AMPED™ Series, a high performance, Made-in-the-USA line of pickleball paddles. Each week on the professional Pickleball circuit, Rippel and more than 100 Team Selkirk athletes compete with Selkirk Sport’s AMPED Series Pickleball Paddles, including 30-year old Tyson McGuffin, the #1 ranked singles player in the world; Kaitlyn Christian, a 27-year old Professional Tennis Player ranked 38th in the world in Doubles by the WTA; JoAnne Russell, 1977 Wimbledon Doubles Champion; Cammy MacGregor, former Top 75 Professional Tennis Player, 2018 US Open Senior Pickleball Singles Champion and winner of the 2018 USA Pickleball National Championships in Senior Singles & Doubles, among others.
Rippel also captured silver in Men’s Doubles Senior Open alongside partner and Team Selkirk ambassador, Glen Peterson.
