Make-a-Wish Foundation to Hold Benefit Walk at Marymoor Park

Members of the public are invited to join local Make-a-Wish children and their families at the third-annual event.

The Make-a-Wish Foundation will hold its third-annual Walk for Wishes benefit walk on Sunday, Aug. 14, at in Redmond. Members of the public are invited to join local "wish kids" and their families as they walk to raise money for children with life-threatening illnesses who have made wishes through the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Washington and Alaska.

The event will include refreshments, children's activities and a performance by Seattle-based kids' rock band .

The cost to register is $25 before July 31 or $40 after. Participants are also encouraged to collect donations from friends, family and co-workers. The top team and individual fundraisers will win a seven-night Royal Carribbean cruise and two round-trip tickets on Alaska Airlines.

Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. with the walk starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m. Online registration and a downloadable registration form are available at nwmakeawish.kintera.org/walkforwishes
