Make Mother’s Day Brunch, Dinner Plans Now In Sammamish-Issaquah

More Sammamish and Issaquah eateries may be open for Mother's Day 2021, but it's a good idea to reserve a spot now.

SAMMAMISH, WA — Everything Mom has done over the past year of the coronavirus pandemic should add up to an extra-special 2021 Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday, May 9. To start her the day off right, how about taking Mom to her favorite Renton brunch or dinner spot?

Restaurants and eateries are still limiting seating, according to Washington's Phase 3 guidelines, so making a reservation early is especially important this year. And if you’re still undecided about going to a sit-down restaurant, curbside pickup or delivery remains an option in many places.

Here are a couple of options in Sammamish and Issaquah, which are always good bets to pamper Mom:

  • Sammamish Cafe & Spirits, located at 22850 Northeast 8th Street in Sammamish, is open from brunch and lunch from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant maintains a waitlist for in-person dining, and offers both delivery and takeout options.
  • The Issaquah JaK's Grill location serves up brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and reopens for dinner at 4 p.m. In-person dining reservations are available via OpenTable and takeout orders can be placed via Toast.

But again, call ahead for reservations; some of your local favorites may be closed on Mother’s Day so the moms who work there can have a day off with their families.

Many restaurants offer prix fixe menus, signature cocktails, decadent desserts and five-star service.

Here are five more suggestions to get you started:

Bonefish Grill, located at 22616 Bothell Everett Highway in Bothell, is offering its Mahi & Shrimp family-style meal for five that includes a choice of salad and family-style sides of mashed potatoes and vegetables, bread with pesto and a dessert duo of cheesecake and cookies.

The Capital Grille, located at 1301 4th Avenue in Seattle, is offering to-go service that includes a three-course dinner featuring roasted beef tenderloin with a choice of butter-poached North Atlantic lobster tails or scampi-style jumbo shrimp, served with green beans, mashed potatoes, a baked flourless chocolate espresso cake and lemon tea cookies.

Outback Steakhouse, located at Eastgate Plaza in Bellevue, offers a deal for moms to enjoy a filet and lobster tail, or prime rib, between May 6 and May 12. Diners can also tack on a lobster tail to any entree for $9.99 or a crab cake for $6.

Olive Garden, located at 11325 Northeast 124th Street in Kirkland, offers family-style takeout meals for five that include ready-to-bake entrees and breadsticks with homemade alfredo or marinara dipping sauce, and a large house solid with the signature Italian dressing.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, located at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seattle, offers a prix fixe family meal for four that includes its signature Surf & Turf (a 6-, 8- or 11-ounce filet paired with buttery cold water lobster tail); a Caesar or steak house salad; and a choice of two from a list of sides that includes garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, steamed broccoli or sweet potato casserole; and a mini cheesecake. The Bellevue Square location is temporarily closed.
