NW Sammamish Road Noise Wall Construction Begins July 27
Next Monday will begin a three-month eastbound road closure, allowing crews time to construct a noise wall parallel to Interstate 90.

SAMMAMISH, WA — Contractors are poised to begin a 90-day project to build a sound wall along a stretch of Northwest Sammamish Road, running along Interstate 90 between Issaquah and Eastgate.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the work will require a full eastbound closure of the road for the entirety of the project, with one-way, local access for westbound drivers and a signed detour in place for eastbound drivers.
Travelers heading east will be rerouted onto Lakemont Boulevard, Newport Way and State Route 900, before rejoining Northwest Sammamish Road.

The new noise wall will help provide a buffer to neighbors living along the corridor and is part of WSDOT's ongoing improvements from I-90 Eastgate to SR 900. Crews will also be adding new auxiliary lanes on both sides of the interstate, between the Eastgate interchange and West Lake Sammamish Parkway, to allow drivers more time to safely merge onto or exit the highway.
