ISSAQUAH, WA — Watch for traffic delays in the downtown Issaquah area this week as city crews remove damaged poplar trees near the intersection of Front Street and Northeast Gilman Boulevard.

The tree removal will begin on Tuesday, but the delays likely won't happen until Thursday. Crews will have to intermittently close lanes for the work. Here's more from the city of Issaquah:

On June 4 and 5, crews will be removing a series of poplar trees at Front St and NE Gilman Blvd. These trees have been hit by cars and have been evaluated by an arborist and removal has been recommended. No traffic impacts are expected for this removal.
Drivers can expect possible delays on June 6 as crews work to remove several other hazard trees along NE Gilman Blvd. This work will require intermittent lane closures and is expected to last until early afternoon. Lane closures will be a single lane at the location of the tree.
New street trees will be planted in the fall to replace those along Gilman Blvd. Trees on the corner of Front St and Gilman will be replaced as part of the future street improvements later on.
