Python Snake Loose in Issaquah High School

School officials say the snake is docile and a common household pet, so there is no need to be alarmed.

Issaquah School District officials announced Thursday that a python snake — kept as a teaching aide in an Issaquah High School classroom — escaped from its enclosure this week and has yet to be located.

A Ball Python named Hamilton — apparently well on its way to becoming a local celebrity — has escapred from a Biology classroom. School officials say the snake is docile and a common household pet, so there is no need to be alarmed.

King County Animal Control attempted to locate the snake, but were unsuccessful.
