SAMMAMISH, WA — Anticipating a rush of last-minute voters, King County Elections on Tuesday put special traffic controls in place to help facilitate drop-offs at Sammamish's drop box location. The county contracted with a third-party firm to develop specific plans around all high-volume drop box areas. That includes the drop box at Sammamish City Hall, where more than 20,000 voters have already dropped their ballots, according to elections data.

The traffic controls went into place around 12:30 p.m. on Election Day and will lift after polls close at 8 p.m. Extra resources include flaggers, added signage and lights. Officials hope the changes will allow for a steady flow of traffic and minimal delays for last-minute voters who still need to drop off their ballots.
