Scout & Molly’s Coming Soon to Issaquah

Women's fashion boutique brings fresh looks and cachet brands to Issaquah Highlands

Eastside shopping will get a welcome boost in late October with the grand opening of Scout & Molly’s at Grand Ridge Plaza in Issaquah Highlands. A women’s fashion boutique showcasing cachet brands, Scout & Molly’s showcases casual and festive looks, plus accessories, jewelry and handbags.

Based in North Carolina, Scout & Molly’s has more than 50 franchise locations across the U.S. and one Washington State location in Ballard. The fashion maven bringing Scout & Molly’s to Grand Ridge Plaza is Michelle Bowers, whose experience designing her own hair accessories line for Nordstrom will add a fun twist to the boutique’s offerings.

“No two Scout & Molly’s are alike; each local owner selects the perfect combination of fashion lines for their community,” said Bowers. “With only limited quantities available of any style, you have a sense that you’re buying a top, dress or skirt that’s made just for you. There’s no chance you’ll be wearing what everyone else is wearing.”

Welcoming, fun and social are just a few ways Bowers explains the environment of the boutique. Featured brands include names such as Black Orchid, Mavi Jeans, DL 1961, Spanx, Bishop + Young, Fifteen/Twenty, Olive & Oak, and Red Haute to name a few.

With her sights firmly set on a late October grand opening, Bowers is currently working with contractors to transform the space on Park Drive into a beautiful setting. Thanks to Scout & Molly’s signature shabby chic look and pink and green walls, the boutique will be well situated to welcome shoppers from Issaquah and beyond.

Bowers became captivated with the Scout & Molly’s concept thanks to a mix of its style and emphasis on corporate social responsibility: “I fell in love with the personality of the brand and the philosophy of the founder, Lisa Kornstein Kaufman,” explained Bowers.

Each boutique follows Kornstein Kaufman’s tradition of supporting its communities and donating to local causes. In addition, the boutique supports Multiple Sclerosis research and awareness nationwide.

“My brother-in-law passed away following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and I felt that the efforts of Scout & Molly’s in this area really spoke to me,” continued Bowers. “It’s an organization that I’m proud to be a part of.”

Earlier in her career, Bowers was a journalist and wrote for People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly. Her most interesting interview? A feature on Macklemore and his cat for a series about celebrities and their pets.
