Video: During Graduation Season in Sammamish, Things Fly - Namely, Caps and Mortar Boards
Eastside Catholic School, Skyline High School and Eastlake High School all said goodbye this month to their members of the Class of 2011.
We'll admit it, here at Sammamish Patch: We like watching things flying in the air.

So, we were in luck during the past two weeks or so that all three high schools in Sammamish - , and - held their graduation ceremonies.

Well, because caps and mortar boards flew in the air.
Of course, young people in Sammamish or who attended school in the city took a major step in their lives - one that marked achievement as well as the beginning to new experiences.

So before all the caps and mortar boards had been thrown into the air, or at least ones with links to high schools in Sammamish this year, we thought we'd record the rite of passage at the Eastlake ceremony.
It's just a simple video. That's all.
We estimate there were about 450 caps and mortar boards that went airborne.
Of course, we at Sammamish Patch want to wish the new graduates congratulations on their success - especially that one Eastlake guy in the front row.
He tossed his cap and mortar board into the air twice.
